Wm. Leroy Pendergrass, Jr. (“Roy”) suffered a massive heart attack and died March 10, 2021, while raking leaves at his home in Dallas. He is survived by Rebecca, his beloved wife of 44 years, and daughters Laura and Emily. Roy was raised in Amarillo TX, and after Yale spent three years in the Navy as an officer aboard the heavy cruiser USS St. Paul. He then took a Masters at Cornell in Industrial & Labor Relations, and settled into a long career with Texas Instruments, living first in Dallas, and then all over the world. While at Yale he roomed with Hal Brunt, Paul Downey and Frank Pratt, and the four remained close friends ever since.
Roy was a generous supporter of his beloved Yale and an active member of our class, attending most reunions, serving on committees, and hosting the superb Dallas Mini in October 2019, which with the Covid shutdown turned out to be the most recent for our class. We all will miss this warm and wonderful gentleman, and send our condolences to Rebecca, Laura and Emily.
