Peder Krudson, my late husband, was a much admired architect and theater designer in Seattle, Washington. He started his career in Seattle in the 1960’s with the well-known firm of Kirk Wallace McKinley. He then practiced in Manhattan, NY at CBS Studios living in Cobble Hill Brooklyn with his family.
He and his family returned to the Northwest in 1980, settling on Mercer Island. He then started his own company, Krudson/Benson Associates in Seattle, working on various theater projects including Thousand Oaks in California, The Children’s Theater in Missoula, Montana, and the paramount Theater in Seattle.
In the mid-eighties, he was divorced from Anne Krudson and in August 2001, we were married in our European garden which Peder designed, on Mercer Island.
He died unexpectedly in January 2007. He was a kind, handsome, loving urban word-smith, opera-lover and guitarist.
He was dearly loved, and is very much missed by our combined families and friends. His daughter, Jennifer, lives in Mystic, Conn., his sons, Blair & William, in Atlanta, Georgia. Peder had four grandchildren: MacKenzie, Sydney, Alexander and Sadie. My family included two children, a son and daughter, and four grandchildren. Peder was a beloved father, grandfather and husband. He was also very proud of his Yale roots, and loved interviewing young hopefuls who wanted to be a part of the Yale experience.
