John R. Skoog April 15, 1939 – Unknown

I have not been able to find any record of John Skoog’s death but I did receive this email from James McKinnon September 22, 2026. “I have heard that John died but haven’t seen an obituary. Skoogie was a wonderful guy. A good friend at Yale. Originally from Minnesota, we got summer jobs in Los Angeles in 1960 and, after a stint in the Marine Corps, he got a law degree from USC and spent the rest of his life there. He had a bout with mouth cancer about 40 years ago which limited him to a liquid diet but that barely slowed him down. We used to talk periodically but He hasn’t responded recently and I got concerned.”
At Yale John participated in track, cross-country, and St. Elmo’s Society. He served in the United States Marine Corps, 1961-1965 and earned his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the USC Gould School of Law between 1965 and 1968.
