Charles H. Greer, of Incline Village, NV and Carlsbad, CA, formerly of Ridgewood, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 17, 2011, at his home in Carlsbad after a brief illness. He was 72. He was a graduate of Ridgewood High School, Yale University, and the Sloan School of Business at MIT. An entrepreneur and venture capitalist, he was the founder and president of Canberra Industries (Middletown, CT), founder and president of Commerce Register Inc. (Midland Park, NJ), and a founding investor of several other businesses. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Esbin-Greer; his children, Katherine Greer Stokes of Central, SC, Lauren Greer Hunt of Santa Fe, NM, John Greer of Incline Village, NV, and Matt Greer of Boston, MA; his brother, Jan Greer of Chatham, NJ, and seven grandchildren.
